Platte Fifteen is a unique 5-story project utilizing Cross Laminated Timber (CLT), a new approach toward sustainable construction. The 150,418 square foot building amenities and features include highly efficient floor plates, 10-foot full height glass, rooftop deck with unobstructed views of downtown and the mountains, usable common areas, outdoor patios, secured lobby, bike storage, commuter locker room, fitness center and underground parking.
The responsibility to craft a contextual, yet forward-thinking building on the corner of historic Platte Street and active 15th Street was the primary design influencer for the building facade at Platte Fifteen. A scaleable 3-story brick facade roots the base of the building to its Platte Street context, while a modern, glass box identifies the main entry and upper office floors. An active first floor is highlighted by our Paseo, which connects the visitor or tenants to Platte Street and provides a truly unique and protected retail environment at the corner of 15th and Platte.
With the intention to provide users at Platte Fifteen a flexible, forward thinking environment Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) was determined to be the primary construction method. Doing so fosters a modern, authentic environment with an exposed timber structure in a way currently not offered in Denver, and further represents the juxtaposition of old and new, modernity and character, progression and heritage.
